Jesse Lee Peterson, president of B.O.N.D., or Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny, also spoke at the press conference and said he is tired of seeing the black community in the state being used by the homosexuals to push forward their agenda. "I am upset that we are once again being used by the radical homosexual movement," Peterson said. "They are trying to use black people to further their perverted lifestyle, and we will not stand for it any more." According to Peterson, a majority of blacks in California voted in favor of Proposition 22. "This is an embarrassment," continued Peterson. "This is not a civil rights issue. This is a moral issue. This is an issue between right and wrong, and we must say that to Gov. Davis today. The legislature is not in session. Davis has until the end of the month to make a decision on the four bills.
