A Digest Of Issues: Why The Hell Not!; Issue: #14 (i) Pro-choice and Vote Splitting: Abortion vs. Election. On, the 24th of September potential Mayoral Candidate (Vancouver, BC; 2002) (possibly Dr) Gölök Zoltán Leenderdt (St.) Franco (Assissi) Buday (Possibly MD) announced that he thinks anyone thinking of attacking people on vote splitting and campaign railroading and even the badmouthing of stripping may want to think twice about calling them selves plainly pro-choice if they do proclaim themselves in such a vane on the issue of abortion. (ii) Consumption Taxes: A Tax On The Poor. On, the 24th of September potential Mayoral Candidate (Vancouver, BC; 2002) (possibly Dr) Gölök Zoltán Leenderdt (St.) Franco (Assissi) Buday (Possibly MD) stated that consumption taxes are a tax on the poor, stating that food and clothing may be less affordable as a result of this, he doesn't however let any other form of over or unnecessary form of taxation of the hook; "Kids, we could have eaten today but we couldn't afford the sales tax." Mr. Buday also thinks it creates an additional accounting head ache for business and in fact small business and independent contractors. (iii) The Need To Live: Politicians. On, the 24th of September potential Mayoral Candidate (Vancouver, BC; 2002) (possibly Dr) Gölök Zoltán Leenderdt (St.) Franco (Assissi) Buday (Possibly MD) thinks that politicians shouldn't be crossing over into other levels of government or branches of government, wether it's Tim Louise, a Lawyer, or a Puil on the Translink board. Or any other politician on a county board (GVRD for instance). He thinks such offices should be represented by executive appointees or in the case of Country District Attourney (Ind) -- $110,000/year, or Vancouver DA (Ind) -- $100,000, Police Commissioner -- $50,000 (Ind), County Commissioner/Executive (Ind) (one electoral point per city -- $90,000), County Controller (Ind) (Auditor/Watchdog) -- $100,000, and County Representative (one per city) -- $80,000. (iii) I'm A Snob Not Pretentious: Buday. On, the 24th of September potential Mayoral Candidate (Vancouver, BC; 2002) (possibly Dr) Gölök Zoltán Leenderdt (St.) Franco (Assissi) Buday (Possibly MD) said that there is nothing to fear from hiss snobbery but honest and unapologetic snubbing or not depending on situation; the difference between a snob and the pretentious is that a snob is cultured and honestly disgusted by the great unwashed, even publicly; the pretentious pretend to be tolerant of everything cultured and have attitudes about people they would never say in public. (iv) Public Transit: Private Hands. On, the 24th of September potential Mayoral Candidate (Vancouver, BC; 2002) (possibly Dr) Gölök Zoltán Leenderdt (St.) Franco (Assissi) Buday (Possibly MD) said that he believes that private business should handle transit, if not as a private business on a public-private partnership contract, not based on a Masonic handshake, but based on the merit of the company and business making the bids; not to mention the quality of the bid.
